Matt Geiger is an AV-rated trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience protecting business owners and family fortunes in Kansas City courtrooms.  Matt simplifies complex cases for judges and juries with clear narratives, compelling themes, and effective technology.  His cases have involved ownership disputes in private companies, shareholder oppression, enforcement and defense of handshake agreements, misrepresentations in the purchase and sale of assets, securities fraud, contract actions and business torts, insurance coverage, family wealth litigation, officer and director liability, and all manner of employment disputes.  His recent victories include a $14.7 million verdict in Kansas federal court, $3.9 million and $2 million judgments in Kansas state court, and the successful defense of a Missouri farm in September 2017.  Super Lawyers® has recognized Matt for consistent results every year since 2008.

Matt also advises boards, audit committees, HR professionals and other law firms in the discreet management of internal investigations. He has stood by clients facing regulatory, civil and white-collar criminal problems all at the same time. These cases have involved conspiracy, securities fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud, tax evasion, price and market collusion, computer crimes, environmental crimes and money laundering allegations.

Matt graduated with distinction in 1998 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he served as note editor of the Oklahoma Law Review and competed on the National Trial Team. He graduated cum laude from the University of Oklahoma in 1995. Matt is admitted to practice in the federal, state and appellate courts of Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. Before starting his own firm, Matt learned his trade at Bryan Cave and Rouse Hendricks German May, where he continues to enjoy strong friendships and strategic alliances. Outside the courtroom, Matt enjoys coaching basketball and hiking the National Parks with his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Grant and Gabrielle.
